Alfred J "Curley"  Pelletier
Alfred J. “Curley” Pelletier, 90, of Gardner, formerly of S. Ashburnham, died peacefully Friday, July 28, 2017 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Alfred was born in Fitchburg on January 17, 1927, the son of the late Joseph Edward and Marie Rose (Chartier) Pelletier.
He served in the United States Naval Reserves, Honorably discharged, as an Apprentice Seaman in 1945.
Alfred was employed by General Electric Company of Fitchburg as a tool crib clerk for over 12 years, retiring in 1988. Following retirement, Alfred worked for Donelan’s Supermarket of Gardner, as a grocery bagger for several years.
Alfred was a faithful member of Higher Ground Ministries of Gardner, where he served as an usher for over 25 years. He also volunteered at the Ashburnham Council on Aging.
Alfred was a hardworking man who spent his life as a devoted husband and loving father. He enjoyed taking walks, and his best moments were those spent with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Helen C. (Collette) Pelletier, who died September 6, 2006.
He leaves three sons, Donald E. Pelletier and his wife Jane of Holden, Bernard J. Pelletier of S. Ashburnham, and Kenneth G. Pelletier and his wife Marcia of Gardner; three daughters, Leona P. Skehan and her husband John of S. Ashburnham, Cecelia A. Cormier and her husband James of Gardner and Gloria A. Auger and her husband Robert of Gardner; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Eugene A. Pelletier and daughter-in-law, Suzanne M. Pelletier;
two brothers, Edward Arthur Pelletier and Joseph Rene Pelletier; and one sister, Marie Rose Lucille Astromowicz.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 19th at 3:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held prior from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
